Hi and welcome to my website. I’ve been designing and building costumes for theater, dance and the beautiful sport of figure skating for more than thirty years. I originally began this adventure in the field of fashion design but quickly realized that the challenge to create fantasy was overwhelming and soon committed to learn everything possible about the costumer’s craft. This desire to serve the community of dancers and skaters who grace our world with beauty and wonder has given me the opportunity to work with performers and competitors of various ages and skill levels and I appreciate all of them.

My studio in Huntington Beach, California provides costumes for immediate sale as well as for individuals seeking a special custom piece to enhance a specific program and music. I also build costumes for major productions on ice and for the dance and theatrical stage.

Jan Longmire figure skating costumes are produced exclusively from hand dyed fabrics, and embellished with genuine Swarovski crystals as well as with beaded embroidery using a wide variety of bugles, beads, and sequins of all sizes and colors. These materials, when applied with skill and delicacy bring colors to life with sparkle and delight! All decoration is guaranteed to stretch to whatever degree is necessary.

I build costumes for all skating disciplines including: ladies, men, dance, and pairs. With a list of carefully taken measurements I am able to create designs for skaters in distant locations and have been fortunate to develop many valued working relationships in the process.
